Airfares

Last week, I started checking into flights home for Christmas. There was not a single non-stop flight for under $700. Connecting flights to Denver were in the $550 range. Connecting flights during winter and holidays are bad. Just say no. Today I checked and found a non-stop flight for $375. Explain this to me.

Not Quite Denver

Thursday night I was tapped to go to Cheyenne to help out at a special event. I left Gracie at home desperately hoping the kennel lady was in town and set a friend in charge of taking her over there should the kennel lady ever answer her phone and have room at the inn.

A couple notes from the weekend:

- I like towns with Target stores - even if I can't think of anything to buy. Gracie now has a blue lobster toy.

- The Rockies (Denver-ward) had surprisingly little snow.

- I love Holiday Inn Express and their king suites with the massive flat screen TV.

- The charbroiled ribeye at Outback is still most excellent.

- Margaritas are good. I miss margaritas.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Seriously, I took Gracie out tonight and with a bright, full-ish moon you truly could say that the moon on breast of the new fallen snow gave the lustre of midday to the objects below.

Add this to the fact that the stores are putting out all the Christmas stuff and I'm ready for turkey dinner and presents.

Winter Storm Warning Again?

It's October and this is weekend number two with a winter storm warning. Boo! Why is it always nice when I'm stuck at work hating everything around me and then it freaking snows on the weekends?

I Almost Quit Today

I certainly had the opportunity. Instead, I decided to try and make it a few more months. I don't know that I can make it to April. I did check my finances. I'm good for several months should I decide I can't do it anymore. I also came home and started applying for the jobs I've been looking at for a while.

One's a full telecommute job in my field in wireless telecommunications. It would also pay well. I'd quit tomorrow if I thought I had a chance in hell of getting it.
