HA!

I read stories like this and laugh. A lot.

New Plan

I've decided I'm going to pay someone to clean my house. I'm too tired to do it myself and I figure someone else can focus really hard on the bathrooms and kitchen. I like this idea. Less work for me.

Last night, my dad took over my basement and went through all the closets packing everything. At this point, I'm pretty close to having the house ready to go up on the market. Since it's going to take forever to sell anyway, might as well put it up as early as possible.

Stupid Dog

So a couple months ago Wiley ate my blinds and pretty much destroyed them. Last night, we went to Home Depot to see if we could get them replaced. We found some for $5, them cut and went home to install them. Now even though these are blinds designed to go in the window by the door, they are only seven feet long. Most doors are taller than that. How freaking annoying is it that they don't make them long enough? Stupid blind manufacturers.

Now I had to special order them and it will take two weeks for them to get here. Although at least in this, we had a color option. Cream blinds look a little weird next to gray trim.

Ahh the joys of moving

There is nothing better than digging through a really big, full closet and pulling boxes out that aren't yours. I cleaned out the under the stairs closet last night and at least 70% of the stuff in there was my brother's. He claims that he doesn't have that much stuff at my house. The pile of bags and boxes in my basement says differently. I haven't even touched the stuff that's his in my garage. I hope he has lots of storage because it's moving out to his place on Saturday.

Good News

I don't have to paint. My realtor suggested using the Mr Clean Magic Eraser on my walls as it's really supposed to be magical. I bought one last night. For $2.35, even if it sucked, it was worth a try.

Anyway, this is the greatest thing ever. My walls were clean and white with just five minutes of work. Thank God for no painting.

Am I insane?

I signed the contract to put my house on the market yesterday. It's not a particularly good time to sell, but whatever. My goal is for my house to go up next week, which means that I have to do most of my packing this week. My brother is coming over on Saturday to help me move some furniture and get some of it out of the house and over to my grandma's for temporary storage (the house needs to look spacious). After that, I need to pack, clean, shampoo my carpet and potentially paint on Sunday.

This is a ridiculously short time frame to get some stuff done. I'm not sure it can be done, but I need to get my house up as soon as possible. This is insane. I haven't slept in three days.

If anyone wants to donate boxes to the cause I'd be glad to take them. My dad's working on getting a bunch from the liquor store. I can just imagine how that's going to go over - moving into an essentially Mormon town with half my stuff stored in liquor cases.

Also, if anyone feels the need to do spring cleaning not at their own place, you know who to call.

Twins Territory is expanding...

In my last post, I promised some real news. A few years ago, I visited the land of the awesome license plates and decided I needed to get me one of them. That opportunity has finally arrived. I'm quitting my job and moving here:

A couple of weeks ago I flew out (or more accurately, I flew to Salt Lake City and drove a 120 miles) to the tiny town of Mountain View, Wyoming. For those of you who are more in tune with the geography of Oregon Trail, this is three miles from Fort Bridger. There I interviewed for a job. I was offered that position today. Unbelievably, it pays more than my current job and seems a hell of a lot more interesting (not to mention the part where they pick up the tab for my relocation). Also, Wyoming and mountains! My tentative start date is April 16. Which gives me about four weeks to pack up my stuff, put my house on the market, and get my ass to Wyoming.

This is a massive change and I was really torn about whether I wanted to make this move (I seriously have a list of pros and cons - there are more cons), but everything really seems to be in place for me to get everything that I've wanted for a long time. Time will tell if this is really a good thing but I need a change and the only way to do that is to take a risk. If it doesn't work out and I come back, I'll only appreciate this area more. So if anyone knows someone who'd like to buy a townhouse in Chaska, I can help them out.

As a strong demonstration of how little I know or care about my NCAA bracket, last night I was actively cheering for VCU to stick it to Duke. Of course when I checked this morning, I noted I had Duke in the Elite 8. Still happy that VCU won though.

In other news, Behind the Mask opens today. It's at 3 theaters in the metro area and thankfully Eden Prairie is one of them. I hate paying money to see movies but I'm really, really excited to see this one.

I'll have some real news to post in the next few days. Developing...

I'm getting married

I'm tired. I'm sick. And Alex Rodriguez has apparently decided that tall socks are hot. Good move on his part. I love how Dick and Bert were speculating on whether he made the switch due to his relationship with Doug Mientkiewicz.

Also, Jimmy John's is now running commercials in Hungarian. The hell?

Sleeping the Weekend Away

That's what I did. I guess that'll teach me to fly during cough and cold season. Damn that recycled air on planes. I believe I got over 34 hours of blissful sleep this weekend. When not sleeping, I took advantage of the lovely weather to go shopping for some lovely cold medication - sadly pseudoephedrine free - and sweep out my garage and vacuum out my truck.

The cold medicine shopping was fun because I got to try out my new HSA debit card. How cool is it to use a card where you never see a bill or a statement showing a reduction in funds? I like this card a lot.

I hate stoplights

In other news, a new study came out saying that women who drink alcohol make more money than those that don't. I generally don't buy into crazy surveys like this, but in this case I say, "Bring on the tequila!"

Its a mixed up muddled up shook up world

Minneapolis St Paul International Airport is the best airport in the world. So says E. Massively impressed that they flew me out on Thursday afternoon with absolutely zero delays. Airports that apparently suck include O'Hare and Atlanta Hartsfield.

In other news, Delta is back on my list. They know how many people will be flying on a given day so shouldn't they have a plan about staffing for those numbers? Also, whoever decided to have a snow globe giveaway at their convention should be shot. "Danger Globes" are not acceptable to TSA.

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Mine was fantastic.
