I wonder

Yesterday in the Reason Express they posted a link to an article in the Baltimore Sun about a proposed state law requiring kids in Little League to wear protective goggles and face masks when playing baseball. These protective measures would need to be worn not only when one is batting but also in the outfield because it's a danger to a kid if he can't catch. My assumption would be that all this protective gear would actually hamper all the kids abilities to catch and hit the ball, but it's for the children and legislators know best. Does the Maryland state legislature have nothing better to do with their time than discuss mandatory goggles for little leaguers? Thank you so much Daddy Government.
