So My Week Was Fantastic...
Living in a tiny cabin for weeks on end with no kitchen and no friends anywhere can get really boring after a while. This week however, I made friends with the environmental cleanup guys living in a few of the other cabins. One of them hates eating out and as he's on the road nine months out of the year, he brings a full kitchen with him. This typically includes two grills, a hot plate, and four totes full of spices and cooking utensils. So oddly enough, I talked to them (not generally a good idea to talk to drunk strangers, but whatever) and they invited me to dinner. Let's lay out the menu for the week:
Sunday - Brats and beer (C didn't feel like cooking)
Monday - 12 oz steaks on the grill, roasted potatoes, honey glazed green beans, and margaritas made just for E.
Tuesday - Spaghetti and meatballs with an excellent garden salad and beer
Wednesday - Chicken and steak fajitas, other mexican stuff and more margaritas for E
Thursday - Grilled chicken, roasted potatoes, grilled squash and still more margaritas for E.
The food was fantastic and the margaritas were extra strong. Also, it was all free and provided me with entertainment for the whole week. I was so depressed when they left yesterday that I had to leave town too. I don't know what I'll do with myself next week. I think the alcohol greatly improved my impression of the town last week.
Today, I got in my car, filled it with gas for the first time in a month (seriously) and drove to a place with a mall. Then I kept driving and found another place with stores. Utah sucks, but it has a lot of places to shop. I found that I like stores and they like my credit card. I'm also driving down a road that continually tells me I'm going to Las Vegas. I think eventually, I might just end up there some weekend.
